London-This is not an American actor from Hollywood; this is
a pure Zimbabwean boy with real Zimbabwean blood, style and vigor and he has
already been selected as best among more than 3000 British youngsters- Khalil
Madovi, a 14 year old lad has struck fortunes by making it to the BBC screens
as a professional actor.
Khalil features in one of the best BBC young people’s video
series which is scheduled to stretch for the next thirteen weeks, on the CBBC
channel.
In the “4 o’Clock Club” program, Khalil stars as ‘Josh’, a
bright and humourous lad who dribbles viewers’ eyes constantly causing his body
to flow rhythmically with both the theme and the music.
Prolific both in speech and in action, Khalil is seen in one
section stretching his hands re-enacting the act of going back to school in
modern British homey life as he goes by the music:
Its a new day, new
start, new scene
I guess I better
march with a whole new me
I know that I’m the
same Dude in the photo,
Little so and so
but today its a no no…
Khalil is an inspiration to youngsters and also older people
who feel they are not worth much in life. His father who is also an
Actor/Director, Mr Tapiwa Madovi, told ZimEye that all through Khalil’s
childhood they did not know he possessed such amazing talent:
“Its only quite recent..Its something that’s come up almost
out of the blues. The opportunity came
out for this program. …they saw over 3000 kids for the role. So when I came
across it…I just thought its something he could do, so I just thought you know
what, why not let you for it, if it happens, it happens, if it doesent, it
doesent” he said
